The National Trust Guardianship Scheme
Haresfield School has a link with the National Trust at Haresfield Beacon. We visit the woodlands and also send work parties at least once a term. With the help of the wardens we have learnt all about the trees, the wildlife and the landscape.
There are 30 nest boxes made by the school out and about – see if you can find them when you visit the woods. Class 3 have recently visited with their link Birmingham school: Regent’s Park. The NT Wardens Michelle and Tim helped them all make dens.
The NT also help the school when they visit the woodland classroom suggesting and organising activities.
The NT have also helped us with advice in the development of the Secret Garden.
