Sarah Salter – Chair of Governors
I come from Cornwall where for several years I served first as parent governor, then as an LEA Governor, eventually becoming Chair. I have an MA in Education and have spent my working life lecturing. A few years ago we moved from Cornwall to Gloucestershire when my husband’s company relocated from Redruth. Here at Haresfield I became Chair of the Curriculum Committee and was then elected Chair of the Governing Body. I am delighted to have joined Haresfield as they move forward from their excellent recent Ofsted inspection. Experience has taught me that constructive collaboration between all parties is a vital element of a successful school. Children thrive when a strong and happy team supports their education from all sides and I will do my best to facilitate that.
Revd Richard Amys – Ex-officio Foundation Governor
I am the local Rector, and have been a governor since I came to the area in 1999. I visit the school regularly to lead assemblies, which I also do at the two other schools in my benefice of six churches. The church has good and close contacts with the school, as one would expect in a school the church founded, and I look for ways for the church to continue supporting the school in this day and age.
Chris Gee – Parent Governor
My 2 daughters attend Haresfield School and they are both thriving there. My wife and I moved to the area in 2004 and we have been made to feel extremely welcome and are now very settled here. I became a Parent Governor in late 2007 and I currently Chair the Staffing Committee. I have 20 years HR and management experience gained in manufacturing, consulting, logistics and retail and have recently moved into the recruitment industry. You may occasionally see me running up the Beacon!
Martin Lumsdon – Parent Governor
My 2 children attend Haresfield School and they are thoroughly enjoying their time there. My wife and I have lived in the village for over 13 years and we love the local countryside on our doorstep. For the last 20 years I have worked in IT and currently work for IBM, which will hopefully help in some of the ICT activities that take place in the school. I wanted to understand more about the school and what it is offering my children so I became a parent governor.
Caroline Segelov – Foundation Governor
I have lived in the village for more than 20 years and both my children really enjoyed their school years at Haresfield. I work as a school nurse with responsibility for several primary and secondary schools; I am one of the church wardens of St. Peter’s church. I enjoy reading, listening to music, walking, yoga and spending time with my friends and family, especially the company of my very active 1 year old grandson.
Graeme Flory-Kish - Community Governor
My wife and I moved to Haresfield in September 2001. I have one daughter who attends the school who is presently in her second year. I am an active member of the village community and sit as Vice Chairman of Haresfield Parish Council. I have a Design & Project Management Consultancy working within the retail and construction industry, my experiences were best placed within the Health & Safety Committee which I presently chair.
Becoming a Governor will hopefully give me a better understanding of the educational programme, will channel my energies/knowledge to assist in the continual improvements of the school and also provide a closer link between the school and the villagers.
