If you believe that a child is at risk of immediate harm, please report straight to social care. Children and Families Front Door Service: 01452 426565 (option 3).
This is especially important when school is closed because we although we do monitor our inboxes, we can not always reply immediately.
Concerns are best reported from the person who saw the issue rather than second hand through us.
For immediate danger please call the police using 999.
If you would like advice or support to do with a child's wellbeing (including if you are the parent or family) and you do not want to get in touch with us at school, you are also able to access help from social care yourself.
Please call Children and Families Front Door Service: 01452 426565 (option 2). Lines are open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Safeguarding at Our School
At our school, keeping children safe is our number one priority. Safeguarding means making sure every child feels happy, secure, and well cared for, both in school and beyond. It includes protecting children from harm, supporting their wellbeing, and helping them to grow with confidence.
All staff are trained to spot concerns early and know how to take action if needed. We also work closely with parents and carers, as we believe safeguarding is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can make sure every child has the best possible chance to learn, play, and thrive in a safe environment.
All staff believe that our school should provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment that promotes the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of each child as well as academic progress.
Haresfield C of E Primary School Governing Body recognises its responsibility, under section 175 of the Education Act 2002, to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure there are adequate arrangements within our school to identify, assess and support those children who may be suffering harm.
Safeguarding is defined as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of health/and or development, ensuring that children grow up in the provision of safe and effective care and optimising children’s life chances.
Haresfield School recognises that all adults, including supply staff, volunteers, non-teaching staff and management committee members, have a full and active part in protecting our pupils from harm, and that the welfare of each child is of paramount importance. This includes a commitment to ensuring that all learners feel confident that any concerns they may have will be listened to and acted upon.
